Vera’s Health and Fitness Philosophy

Think it.  Do it.  Keep up the DISCIPLINE!

 

First you have to be honest with yourself.  You have to be serious about your desire to improve your health and fitness.  You can’t fail when you are truly committed to yourself, follow sensible guidelines and build up your new habits at a reasonable pace.

You may think all this change is easy?  So, why do so many people fall by the wayside and just give up.  One key to success is a step at a time and avoid over doing it.  Whatever you do, whether it is exercise or changing your diet, take it gradually.  Too many people start exercising and over do it.  The same with your diet.  Don’t just suddenly change.  If you do, failure is almost guaranteed because your mind and body will often reject your new habits.

When you work too hard at your next gym session, it is quite likely your body will tell you it hurts.  The pain usually stays around longer after the first few sessions.  Come your next session and you will find an excuse for not going.

When you change your diet suddenly similar feelings show up.  For example your body can tell your mind I am not happy or not satisfied.  This is when it is too easy for you to fall back on old familiar foods you miss.  Food that isn’t good for you.

So, you have to be serious about what you want and you have be disciplined.

 

The following is Vera’s philosophy and you will have to find what works for you.  It also helps if you have someone supporting you while you build up your new habits.

Stay fit, stay healthy, stay young, for an active lifestyle.

Eat well. Maintain a diet of wholesome foods.

Strength training. Increase metabolism through exercise.

Maintain a toned body through muscle workouts combined with a cardio program for heart health. Spin bikes, whole body workouts, swimming laps.

Body and Mind – Keep a positive mind. Maintain a happy attitude. Love yourself, love others.

Find someone who can be your coach or support.  A friend or colleague who understands your goals and is willing to support your progress until you have consolidated your new habits.  Lots of people like to help others so this support doesn’t necessarily have to cost.
