Everything you do can be improved with practice until it becomes second nature. You can do it on your own but you will increase your skills faster with input from other people.
Lets use juggling and tenpin bowling as examples. You can learn the techniques of both in five minutes but it is far easier if someone shows you the specifics. With juggling it is one ball, then two and finally three. You can be juggling three balls within 10 to 20 minutes. Ten pin bowling you learn three things. How to throw the ball. Where to place the feet. Where to line up the ball. In both cases, once you know the techniques, you need to practice, practice, practice and then you are guaranteed to improve providing you can learn from each experience. And quicker if you allow people to support you.
The same process can be applied to any activity. You know people hate public speaking of any kind and yet anybody can look confident with practice. The thought of delivering a one liner, home presentation or group presentation is people’s biggest fear. To overcome this you have to practice, practice and practice. Everybody can deliver one liners or public presentations with confidence as long as they practice. The more you do it the better you get. You don’t have to do it on your own.
